1st Trimester Introduction
Real People:
We tried for a long time to get pregnant. When I told my husband we were pregnant he was in just about as much shock as I was. But I had to tell people right away, I couldn't wait. We were standing there together and watched it turn positive together. I had done the, the home pregnancy test, and I had laid it on his nightstand. So I took it to him and I’m like,’ guess what, you're going to be a dad!’ and he said 'really?' and I said 'yes!' I think his big reaction was, 'you know,I can't even comprehend how this is going to change my world.'

Real People:
My first trimester really was a doozy for us. I knew I was pregnant right away, because I just got very sick. I had a lot of anxiety that first trimester. It was the first time in my life where I felt like I was completely out of control. I had quite a bit of nausea all throughout the day. Heartburn, and I feel like that's been from day one. Instead of having morning sickness, I had what we call night sickness. The morning sickness was constant, it was all the time. Smells... The smells that normally would smell good to me, did not. Mylanta was my friend. I had a king-sized bottle that I carried around with me everywhere. And I would wake up every morning with a headache. I think I was too nauseous to be concerned about a headache... Breast tenderness and very enlarged breasts. When I first got pregnant I was tired all the time... I nap, every afternoon, 2:00 o'clock, it hits me. It seems like I’ve been going to the bathroom every 2 hours for about 10 weeks now. It seemed like every 5 minutes, I was, I was going off to the bathroom. I, I didn't have the problem of going to the bathroom all the time, and it's probably because I haven't been drinking as much water as I should. Along with the bad, there are a lot of good symptoms. I think my best good symptoms was actually when I started gaining weight and being able to see physically, that it was real. The positive would be that I was expecting, you know, and I had a life growing inside me. I get this overwhelming sense of peace that, that I’m going to be a mother.
