Medication Use While Breast Feeding

After months of watching everything that you put into your body so carefully, you may breathe a sigh of relief after your baby is born. However, if you choose to breast feed, you'll need to continue to be careful. Much of what you eat or ingest will be passed to your baby through your breast milk. It’s very important for you to continue to eat well, and to make sure that you are consuming enough calories. Please be sure to check with your provider about your diet and before taking any prescription or over the counter medication. Of course, you'll want to stay away from alcohol, smoking, and any drugs not prescribed by your provider while you're breast feeding.

Braxton Hicks contractions are typically infrequent, irregular, go away with rest, and only mildly uncomfortable. At times they can be very frequent, painful, and regular. Braxton Hicks contractions do not result in cervical change and do not lead to true labor.
