Welcome to a special part of our garden tour. This section was designed just for fathers. After all, dads play a “fairly” important role in this pregnancy and parenting business.

Real People:

When I first found out I was going to be a dad, it was, "am I ready for this?" my stomach just dropped. My heart quit beating when she told me. I was excited and a little nervous too because it's a whole new experience. Once it finally sunk it, excitement and then I thought, "I hope it's a boy because I have no idea how to treat a little girl." I got, I got pretty teary-eyed. I was a little nervous about the responsibility of finally being a father, but I was really excited to be one. I wanted to have a go at it. The big question that I was always finding myself asked was, "what the heck is wrong with her?" and then I’d think, "ah, she's pregnant, okay." everyone told me this was going to happen. The thing I was most excited about was knowing that someday this little, this little child would be able to walk and run up and say "daddy". One of the best things that you'll find is, no matter how your work day was or how things are going, there's nothing like the feeling of coming home and having your kids waiting for you. You're in for a ride. You’re in for a great time. It's going to be hard, but it's going to be fun at the same time. It was pretty exciting, but it was like, oh, boy, here we go.

Mommy Tip
Braxton Hicks contractions are typically infrequent, irregular, go away with rest, and only mildly uncomfortable. At times they can be very frequent, painful, and regular. Braxton Hicks contractions do not result in cervical change and do not lead to true labor.
